About Claire…
Life can feel overwhelming at times, and for the past 14 years I have dedicated my work as a counsellor to supporting children, adolescents, and adults through those difficult moments. I feel honoured to have a career I love, one that allows me to listen deeply, offer compassion, and help people find the clarity and confidence they need to move forward.
I provide a safe, empathetic, and non-judgmental space where clients can explore their concerns and work collaboratively toward improved well-being, stronger relationships, and greater confidence.
Areas of Experience
I have supported clients across a wide range of issues, including:
Stress and anxiety
Depression and low mood
Body image, self-esteem, and confidence
Addiction and recovery
Life transitions and adjustment
Relationship difficulties and couples counselling
I offer both online and in-person therapy, so you can access support in the way that works best for you.
My background
Before becoming a counsellor, I built a career in the UK finance industry for over 20 years, an experience that shaped my understanding of the pressures many professionals face. I have lived in Hong Kong with my family for the past 14 years, and raising two children here has given me a strong understanding of the challenges many people face when living far away from family and friends.
Alongside my counselling work, I am currently studying for my Doctorate in Psychology, researching the interplay between perfectionism and self-care among Hong Kong professionals. This academic work complements my clinical practice, deepening my understanding of how high achieving individuals can balance professional demands with personal well-being.
Beyond my clinical work, I am passionate about health, fitness, and well-being, and have a particular love of long-distance running. I find that the discipline and resilience of marathon training enrich my own life and connect closely to the values I encourage in my clients.
I understand how fast paced, demanding, and sometimes lonely life can feel, especially for those living far from family or established support networks. This perspective underpins my commitment to helping clients navigate challenges with compassion and practical strategies.
My Approach
Every client is unique, and I tailor my approach to fit each individual’s needs and goals. I draw on a range of evidence based therapeutic methods, including:
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Person Centred Therapy
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
I also trained as a clinical hypnotherapist with the London College of Clinical Hypnosis and the University of West London. By combining counselling with hypnotherapeutic techniques, I provide a holistic approach that addresses both psychological and behavioural concerns.
This integrated style has helped clients with issues such as:
Stress and burnout
Smoking cessation and weight management
Phobias and social anxiety
Sleep difficulties and motivation
Relationship challenges, communication breakdowns, and couples work
Professional Experience and Memberships
My work spans both private practice and professional organisations. I am currently:
